Mike
Miron, Dave Stahl Move to City Hall
Jeff Holland Steps In
Mike
Miron, who has served as the Annapolis Maritime Museum's business
manager for the past several months, has been named by Mayor Ellen
O. Moyer as the new director of the Office of Economic Development
for the City of Annapolis. "I'm looking forward to the challenge,"
Mike says, "But, I'm disappointed that I've had to give up
my position with the museum. When Peg heard the news, she said,
'You've abandoned us!' But I haven't really. I'll be here to help
in an advisory capacity as the museum grows over the next few
years." At the January board meeting, Mike was presented
with a plaque of appreciation.

The
board has tapped Jeff Holland to take Mike's place. "Jefferson"
is well known in the Eastport community, having served as the
"Minister of Propaganda" with the Maritime Republic
of Eastport since its inception in 1998. He's a member of the
Chesapeake folk duet Them
Eastport Oyster Boys, along with Kevin Brooks, and has an
office of Second Street, which serves as headquarters for his
public relations and events management company, Holland Lines.
Jeff is also the director of the Maryland Maritime Heritage Festival
at the Annapolis City Dock, April 26-28, 2002. This year it will
host the stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race. Jeff and his wife,
Louise White, and their daughter, Anna, live in Hillsmere with
a chocolate lab, two kittens, and three guinea pigs. Jeff can
be reached by email
or at 410 263-9446.
Board
Treasurer Dave Stahl has also taken a post at City Hall, as
the City Manager pro-tem. "I've agreed to serve until a permanent
manager can be recruited," Dave explains. "The Ethics
Commission has ruled that it will not be a conflict of interest
for me to continue t serve on the museum board as long as I recuse
myself from the McNasby's lease and other city-related negotiations."
