Melbourne
Smith designed and built the original Pride of Baltimore, plus nearly
a dozen other historically accurate replicas, including Commodore Perrys
flagship Niagara and Capt. Cooks Endeavour.
His
hand-drawn plans of his most recently launched project, the 1812-era
privateer Lynx, are among the artifacts on display, along with
half-models, tools, and a collection of original watercolor profiles
of historic tall ships, yachts, and traditional Chesapeake Bay watercraft.
The
watercolors are on display in the Barge House portion of the museum,
next door to McNasbys Oyster Packing House. Hours are 11 a.m.
to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
The
Lynx portion of the exhibit is in the Great Room adjacent to
the Maritime Café at McNasbys, and will be on display during
the cafés regular business hours, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday
and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
A
reception to mark the exhibit's opening was held on November 8, 5 -
9 p.m.
